Over the past few years our bear population has increased
and it isn't unusual to see them throughout the deer season. We
have a split season for bear, one in November and one in December.
Baiting is not allowed so hunting them can be a little challenging.
The way we do our hunts is the hunter pays for and hunts for whitetail,
but we hunt in areas where we are seeing the most sign of bear.
If a hunter is lucky, and harvests a bear, then they pay a bear
trophy fee. We can use dogs for bear and we can line up a dog hunt
for them, but this must be booked early and price depends upon the
dog owners. Also, a bear tag along with your big game license must
be purchased. This tag is available over the counter where you get
your big game license.
